Manual Driving Instructors

Dan Boyle ADI

Manual Instructor in a Suzuki Swift

After gaining my licence and growing up around cars, driving has always been a key part of my life, especially living in a rural area.

After a career in quality and health & safety, I chose to become an ADI and have been teaching since 2025.

I’m calm, patient and practical in my approach, focusing on clear, straightforward teaching to help learners build confidence at their own pace.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy football and darts and am always looking to keep learning and improving.

Passing my test gave me real independence, and that’s something I aim to pass on to every learner. My goal is to help you become a safe, confident driver in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Russell Jeffries ADI

Manual Instructor in a Citreon C3

Passing my driving test many years ago gave me a real sense of freedom and independence. Growing up in rural Oxfordshire, having a car was essential and opened up so many opportunities for me.

In my twenties I joined the Fire Service, where I passed my HGV Licence and Emergency Fire Appliance Driving (EFAD) Certification, meaning I could safely drive fire engines for emergency responses.

Now I work in the Criminal Justice System, supporting both children and adults. This work has taught me a lot about patience, perseverance, and how to help people build confidence and belief in themselves to reach their goals. I’ve also spent several years coaching sports for all ages, where I’ve learned to adapt my approach to suit each person’s unique needs.

As I train to become a driving instructor, I’m excited to help others learn to drive, experience the same sense of freedom that I had, opening up a world of opportunities, and for others to enjoy many years on the road.

Karl Green PDI

Manual Instructor in a Kia Xceed

Hi, I’m Karl, I started my driving instructor journey in June 2025. I’ve been based in Witney for 5 years and I’m delighted to be part of the Camber Driving School.

Teaching and coaching have always been at the heart of what I do. Alongside my professional career, I have been a Scout Leader for more than two decades, including time with Sea Scouts in New Zealand, where I taught young people how to sail safely and confidently. Patience, clear communication and keeping people safe will continue to be my approach.

Before becoming a driving instructor, I spent six years with DriveTech, who deliver driver education courses for people at risk of losing their licence due to speeding or poor driving habits. My goal is simple: to help people develop safe, confident driving habits for life, so they avoid those kinds of courses in the future.

Automatic Driving Instructors

John Hutchins ADI

Automatic Instructor in a MG S5

I am the owner of Camber Driving School.

I spent many years in the transport and the distribution industry and 2010 I set up Camber Driving School.

Over the years I have gained additional industry qualifications, including becoming a DVSA Accredited Fleet Trainer and DVSA Accredited Diamond Examiner, and passing the Diamond Special Driving Test (regarded as one of the highest standards of driving levels outside of the emergency services). I now work with various councils testing and assessing their taxi drivers to ensure they are at the required standard and also various companies to ensure their employees drive at the required safety standard.

I passed my Emergency First Aid at Work course with the St Johns Ambulance in 2017, and in 2019 I attended a safeguarding course, as I now work with clients with various disabilities.

Sally Johnson ADI

Automatic Instructor in a Cupra Born

My name is Sally and I am a female driving instructor at Camber Driving School. After gaining my licence four years ago, I completed an advanced driving course and having mentored full licence holders to achieve the same, I decided to make a career change and start my instructor training with John.

I am relaxed, laid back and patient and this reflects in my teaching style. Outside of teaching my hobbies include horse riding, rugby and I am a keen traveller.

Declan Kelly ADI

Automatic Instructor in a Skoda Fabia

After making a career change in 2024, I found a real passion for helping people learn to drive and build confidence on the road.

I’m a calm, relaxed, and patient instructor, and I always aim to create a supportive environment where you can feel at ease from your very first lesson.

I enjoy having a chat and believe that building a good relationship with my students is key to keeping lessons comfortable, stress-free, and productive.

I currently offer automatic driving lessons and teach in a modern Skoda Fabia making learning smooth and straightforward.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, watching a range of sports, and travelling whenever I get the chance.

Mark Haines ADI

Automatic Instructor in a Cupra Fomenta

My name is Mark. Originally from Warwick, I have been an ADI since 2005 where I worked owning and running my own driving school until 2020.

In 2020 I moved to Carterton after taking an opportunity to work and train safety drivers in the autonomous car industry. To advance my training skills I gained a RoSPA gold L4 Award in Advanced Behavioural Driver Training in 2022 and due to the nature of the training, I also obtained my category D License (bus).

After a change in circumstances earlier this year I was very happy to join John and the other instructors at Camber.

I am a fairly laid back, patient and relaxed trainer/coach and try to make each lesson as enjoyable and stress free as possible whilst staying productive and focused on your needs.
